Undoubtedly one of Cowglen’s best holes and illustrates that length is not essential in making a hole challenging.
There is little margin for error from the tee, as the shot requires to be positioned between the branches of the large tree on the left and the bunker on the right while being short enough to avoid being blocked out by the trees further on.From here the 2nd shot will only be a short iron, but this too must be accurate and hit the correct distance in order to clear the slope and burn guarding the front while staying short of the deep rough which waits over the green.
There is also a significant slope from the back of the green making putting difficult, especially across it.
